Galileo Galilei was born on February 15th in Pisa Italy in 1564. He is considered one of the most important scientists in history because he laid many foundations for modern science with his observations and theories about motion and gravity.

Galileo used telescopes to study celestial bodies like Jupiter's moons and craters on Earth's moon that no one had seen before him. These discoveries challenged Aristotelian views which dominated at that time making him a pioneer among astronomers.
