In the beginning, there was nothing but a great void. This void was so vast that it stretched out in all directions without any boundaries or edges. It was as if the universe had not yet been created, and everything remained in a state of non-existence.
The Void and Chaos
From this void emerged two elements - chaos and yin-yang. Yin represented darkness, coldness, and femininity while yang represented light, warmth, and masculinity. These two elements were constantly at war with each other, creating an eternal cycle of birth and death.
The Emergence of Pangu
One day during this endless struggle between yin-yang, a primordial being named Pangu emerged from the egg-like void. He was born from the fusion of these opposing forces - half male (yang) on one side and half female (yin) on the other.
The Separation of Heaven & Earth
As Pangu grew stronger within his egg-like existence, he began to feel suffocated by its constraints. He decided to break free by standing upright against both sides of his shell using his arms as pillars for support.
With time passing slowly but surely through Pangu's laborious effort against gravity’s pull towards equilibrium between heaven & earth – eventually they parted ways; thus came into existence our world known today as "China" where we live under sky called "Heaven" above us while living below ground level is referred to as "Earth."
Creation Mythology 101: The Chinese Version
